What I'm talking about here is basically the "Low Hanging Fruit Plan" I presented in my 2009 blog entries, including:

http://baltimoreinnerspace.blogspot.com/2009/08/mta-vs-lhf-plans.html

The east streetcar line would join the Charles Street streetcar line in the Inner Harbor and then link to the existing Charles Center Metro station, where the west line would come in either on the existing Metro platforms or a new light rail line under Fayette Street.

Several other easy possibilities are a streetcar to Metro transfer at an "East MARC" Station at Monument/Highland, or at Central Avenue, shown as Point #4 here:

http://baltimoreinnerspace.blogspot.com/2012/07/red-line-to-harbor-point.html

The bottom line is that I don't like to push one solution as being the ONLY solution. There are many ways we could could get a better, cheaper, more buildable, more expandable and more efficient solution than the MTA Red Line.Gerald Neilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03765375014163120449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26974845.post-22834303762866373042013-02-25T15:41:39.008-05:002013-02-25T15:41:39.008-05:00I'm glad to see after listing out all of your ...I'm glad to see after listing out all of your criticisms of the Red Line project, you had a solution in mind. I like it. Where would East (street cars) meet West (light rail)? Illustrate it on a map, if you have the time.jpasqualemhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00806790949561004299noreply@blogger.com
